July 27 Day 15

bon jour
How am I doing teach keeping track of the days? We as I said yesterday we went on the hook last night (anchored for non boaters) everything went well we sat up on the fly bridge and looked at all the lights of Ottawa. We were in a little cove all by ourselves. It was quiet as we sat there with a beverage in hand. We turned in around eleven and set the alarm for 3 to make sure we were staying fast as it was r first night with the new anchor we purchased. At 2:30 nature called and everything was great we were still hooked and the frig battery was still working. In the morning we had breakfast and pulled the hook in, also a log but it sank as it was waterlogged. We headed back to the locks of 8 to find more boats waiting and one out floating. We floated and just waited about 8:30 the locks opened and took the first group of about 5 or six boats in, fifteen minutes later they took more boats in, now just three remained and we were one of them. It is hard to explain but it is like walking up stairs the lock in front of u lets water out and raises you the door opens and u go into the next lock the people in the lock ahead of u go up and out then the water from their lock fills your lock and up u go. Are u confused yet I am. Anyways it was a lot of work and took us some 3 hours to raise 80 feet. The view was spectacular from my view. Lin had the hard job with the bow as we were close to the doors and the water pressure was strong making it hard to hold the bow in. To make a short story long we made it and r now tied to the wall in Ottawa the capital of Canada. We will probably stay a few days or till we decide to leave it is great not really having a set schedule. The weather is great and we may treat ourselves to dinner out tonight saw a Micky D's. This is a great life and we are enjoying ourselves even thru the bad times.
