Day 2 & 3

Finally got an Internet connection. When we arrived at Whitehall Bill and Linda from our marina were there to help us in. The next morning we left Whitehall at 9:30 and went thru lock12 with Bill & Linda. Lin and I had planned to head to Valcour Island for the night but changed our minds when we got onto the lake and there were strong North winds and 2 to 4 footers, so we changed plans and decided to stay in Vergennes. The trip in at 5mph took 1.5 hours water really smells bad too. We saw
the falls which now has different color lights at night, nice but not worth the 1.5 in and 1.5 out. Met two Bob's from Canada both on the Trent-Severn waterway. Both have docks and told us to call on the way thru and we would be more than welcome to stay at their docks. We plan on using that invite. Power there was not good.
Day3.
Left Vergennes at 8:50 for our long ride out. We headed to point Bay Marina for fuel and a pump out $2.99 per gallon took 59.9 in each side tank we are burning about 1.6 gals an hour at 9 - 10 mph. We decided to head to Gaines marina at Rouses Point since the lake is suppose to be rough tomorrow 3 to 5 footers. Nice marina new owners are real nice and they built new docks over the winter. This is our first night we had to pay to stay $ 1.50 per foot $63.00.
They had a Snack Shack they we ate in really inexpensive and a ton of food. Lin and I spent over 45 minutes looking for the stamps we brought, where could we have put them after searching everywhere and just ready to by more we found them where they should be with the envelopes.
Three long days on the water and we are loosing it. As I am writing this Lin is doing inventory on are wine and liquor as we will be going thru Canadian customs tomorrow. We have heard all kinds of different stories so we are just getting ready for the worst. The only other thing we could do is stay up and drink it all tonight. Well I had better help by have one more cocktail before I help Lin. Tomorrow we will be brushing up on are French. Time to make plans for tomorrow, weather permitting.

We will be shoving off for now
