We had a peaceful night at the Coinjock Marina. They had a great restaurant where we had lunch yesterday. We were up at 6am to get ready to be underway by 7am. We had another open water crossing but it was calm and more protected but out of the Virgina cut the water was shallow. At 9:13am we crossed out of North Carolina into Virginia our 14th state. We saw eagles, and osprey all nesting. We also came to one area that had a lot of turtles sunning on logs. We had to wait for 5 bridge openings and we went thru one lock which raised us a big 12" wow. We arrived at Waterside Marina in downtown Norfolk at 3pm. Real nice marina with a great dock crew. Dream Catcher stopped at the free town wall just past the Great Steel Bridge. We got things organized on the boats had cocktail hour and went out to a great dinner. Traveling thru the harbor at Norfolk we saw many Navy ships being repaired. There were several APL's in the harbor which brought back memories of when I was on the Swift Boats in Vietnam. We lived on an APL when we were in port at DaNang. We plan on staying here a few days to rest up and enjoy the city.
