Another day in Crisfield. We had thunder storms late last night and early this morning. The wind was 10 to 20 with gusts to 35 so we decided to stay till the weather lets up. We could make it across but did not want to put up with the rough ride. Last night the owner of Linton's a seafood crab shack came and picked us up for dinner. You ordered your food then went out onto a covered deck and when the food was ready they brought it out. There were picnic tables covered with brown paper and the people with hard shell crabs put them on the table and pounded them with a hammer. Lin got a big piece of flounder and I got a dozen oysters and a soft crab sandwich both dinners were great. After we decided not to move today we talked to the office to see if there was shopping near by as we had been in all of the towns 4 stores. There was a mall and we called the cab company to see what the ride would be to our surprise it was $50.00 round trip and they would wait if you did not take long. We said we wanted to look around and the reply was it would be another $50.00 to come back. When we told the marina about the price and asked if there was a car rental around one women who works in the office offered us her car. We jumped at the offer and told her we would be back by 4pm. It was a nice 45 minute ride thru the country to the mall. It was nice to get out of the wind and do some store looking. We are cooking dinner on the boat and hoping tomorrow's weather will be more forgiving so we can cross the bay. Our trip to the Solomons will be 50 miles in a North West direction with the winds out of the South.
