This morning was windy with winds of 20 knots. The tide was out and with the high winds we were trying to decide whether to move or stay another day. Around noon we decided to make the move. Off the dock in high winds we were able to turn Goofin Off around in the tight spot and head out the narrow canal. Once back on the GIWW we felt much better and glad we headed out. It was an overcast day with just a lite chop. We went a few areas where the dolphins were in pods feeding it was quite the site. We reached Fort Meyers Yacht Basin at 4pm after 36 miles.
We touched base with a friend from high school who I played hockey with. They are coming down to pick us up tomorrow for dinner. Also talked with friends from our town who now winter in Fort Meyers. We will try to get together with them on Monday if that works out for them.
We are not sure how long we are going to stay here but may stop at Fort Meyers Beach before heading to Naples.
