Nov 18th, 19th Day 129 130

The Aberdeen Marina was a convenient store and had gas pumps by the road. It was pretty nice and was a real thrill getting in and out. When we called the lock in the morning after the fog lifted we were told to stay at the dock as they had a diver in the water. Well at 11:30 the lock called and they could let us down. We found out a 65 footer had gotten a cable wrapped around the prop and shaft. Long story but when we went into the lock the 65 footer was outside the lock still waiting to be repaired. We traveled 16.8 miles to Barton Ferry Cutoff where we anchored in a nice cove off the Tenn-Tom on the Tombigbee River. We saw a baby Raccoon swim across the cove behind us, thrill for the night.
On the 19th we had to wait out the fog one more time, lucky we only had 8 miles to the Columbus Marina. We arrived at Columbus Marina 1:30 real nice marina and we had full use of the courtesy car. We went into Columbus and visited the house of Tennessee Williams, which looked like they just redid it over, real nice. Did the tour of the city and found a great place for dinner, made reservations for 7pm. Good choice the food and service was great. Tomorrow we are heading to a farmers market at 7am. After that we will decide to either stay one more night or head south. The next lock is just below the marina. We are going to try and reach the next and only marina till Mobile by Wednesday. It is 120 miles from where we are now. Main reason to get there is to cook our Thanksgiving dinner.
