We got an early start today were under way at 7am. We crossed Rice Lake this morning while I wrote about yesterday. Once off the lake we were back in the river and canal went thru a lot of small villages and we meandered thru the countryside. We went thru 7 locks and 3 swing bridges. The most exciting part of the day was the hydraulic lift at Peterborough. It is a national historic site that gives the boater the thrilling ride of the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world (19.8m) 65ft let us tell you it really is a thrill and it lifts fast and there you are in a tube suspended 65' in the air wait till you see the pictures from the top. You tie yourself in the tub and away you go. Lin's knuckles were a little white when we got to the top. Great day with new found friends(thanks to Tom & Elizabeth). Today we traveled 48 miles in 9:15 hours.
Weather was nice but supposed to get bad tonight with rain tomorrow.
